In Forte dei Marmi, the works of Carmine Messina transform restaurants, hotels, and villas into contemporary art salons, engaging in dialogue with their surroundings and enriching them with color and texture. A master of seascapes, Messina started capturing the ever-changing moods of the sea, inspired by Florentine painter Sergio Scatizzi. Over time, his gaze shifted toward nature, creating vibrant, richly layered floral vases, reminiscent of painted bas-reliefs. In recent years, he has introduced shaped canvases: monochromatic canvases in white or black in which the surface appears to expand outward into the surrounding space.

Frequently conceived as design elements, his works can be commissioned to measure—tailored in scale, subject, and palette— to fit harmoniously into any interior.

In his atelier in the heart of Forte dei Marmi, Messina personally welcomes collectors, guiding them through a journey of material, color, and atmosphere, where contemporary art and design meet.
