After the Grand Hotel Minerva in the center of Florence and Villa Roma Imperiale in Forte dei Marmi, Collezione EM surprises again with a new inauguration. “A dream of ours is coming true: a home for our guests in the heart of the world’s most beautiful city.” This is how Sara Maestrelli presents the new and eagerly-awaited Collezione EM hotel: the Violino d’Oro, in Venice in the shadow of the San Marco bell tower.

The Venetian dream comes only after painstaking restoration of an ancient palazzo, where the art, architecture, and history of the Serenissima now cradle guests in an intimate residence, a celebration of the eternal beauty of Italian artisan workmanship by the Florentine family of owners, which has been active in the hospitality sector for more than thirty years.

Sara, who curated design and image for the Venice “jewel” alongside her cousin Nicolò, who was involved in overseeing the architectural project, explains how extreme care was paid to selecting the location and to recreating an atmosphere of low-key luxury and almost domestic warmth in this new boutique hotel (thirty-two rooms and suites, with a private water entrance). The same sensitivity that has always fuelled Collezione EM’s vision of excellence in hospitality: “We like to define it luxury for the gentle soul,” Sara tells us. “A discreet luxury, delicately woven of details and human relationships. Our hotels offer conscientious, cordial service that is always reserved and highly personalized. And then there’s the genius loci, a strong local identity in dining and in design, in respect of the characteristics of the sites of all our hotels: places we love.”

A human touch which, beginning in Spring 2024, will also animate the fourth hotel in the collection: Pensione America, in Forte dei Marmi. “A ‘designer’ spoiler? Think of The Philadelphia Story (1940), with the unforgettable Katharine Hepburn.”
