if you were a paella, what kind would you be?

If you can’t imagine life without curry olives, you’re in for a treat with Giulia’s paella, her signature dish. Whether with seafood, meat, veggies, or a mix, there’s something for every craving. Try the arroz negro, a squid ink rice dish with cuttlefish, shrimp, and an aioli sauce. There’s a fresh lobster option, but be sure to book ahead, as it takes a bit longer to prepare. Valencian paella originated as a humble dish using leftover ingredients from rice harvests. To fully appreciate its flavors, it is traditionally eaten by shelling prawns with one’s hands, to the point that the “senyoret” version was created for wealthy people, without shells, and therefore to be savored with a fork. Giulia and Puchi infuse their wine pairings with a touch of Spanish culture: combining Verdejo from Castilla y León with fish, Albariño from Galicia with lobster, and Ribera del Duero Tempranillo with meat. If fresh Tuscan pasta is your go-to dish, complemented by the right wines (beyond the well-known Italian and French selections, of course!), then Giulia is a charming wine shop to explore.
