surprising menu (and off-menu) options
Ristorante Il Posto
The kitchen and restaurant materials showcase exquisite craftsmanship framed by the works of Ceroli, Schifano, and Trotta. Dishes are presented within a comforting atmosphere that reflects creative influences from the past. Amid interiors adorned with terracotta tiles, exposed beams, marble, aged wood, Cardoso stones, and wrought iron, the menu honors cacciucco in the intingolo viareggino (a fish-and-vegetable soup) enhanced by lime, capers, and soy sauce for a contemporary take on tradition. Coquina clams, described by Simone Andreano as “a mestiere,” meaning in pure form, are featured raw on the prawn pizza. Fish is again served with homemade maccheroncini, complemented by red mullets from our waters, while oregano from the Apuan Alps enhances the tomato dishes. Some of the best surprises are often hidden off the menu, so feel free to ask about the kitchen’s latest creations! The wine list truly reflects the local vibe, especially with its selection of natural offerings from Piedmont, along with some Spanish and French labels.
