In less than a year’s time, when the chrysalis will have completed its metamorphosis, Forte dei Marmi will acquire a new marvel. A grand villa in the heart of the historic center. Modernity on one thousand square meters. A creature of impressive volumes, yet graceful, light, in perfect symbiosis with her surrounding green environment. Ennobled by many and divers natural materials (marble, stones, wood . . .), she will be poised to receive the caress of the sun and the kiss of the breeze. “The sum of its architect Tiziano Lera’s design art,” says builder Fabrizio Zanetti.

With his partner Sergey Bashkyrtsev, Zanetti manages Roma Imperiale Luxury Services, a complex enterprise that handles planning concerns, design, from-the-ground-up construction or rebuilds, and brokerage of noteworthy properties in Forte dei Marmi. An undertaking that draws its strength from more than six decades in the construction sector.

We visited the villa worksite. Floors, stairways, walls, arches: everything is still unfinished. Zanetti leads the way with the casual assurance of one who grew up in such places. What we see as a chrysalis, for Zanetti is already a butterfly. “This is the light well that runs through the entire building to bring sunlight even to the basement,” he says, pointing to large circular openings in the floors. “Here, instead, we will be installing a wide glass wall that will allow us to see into the pool, to watch as though we too were submerged. These? The elements that will make up the walls, microporous bricks of clay and waste wood fiber that let the house breathe and stay healthy.” He shows us a long line of wooden planks sawn into trapezoidal forms. “Cut one by one, by hand by our workers, to shape the edge of this terrace,” he explains. We understand the difficulty of the challenge, the complexity of the endeavor, the expertise and experience needed to build something of this quality. “It will be an extraordinary villa, one of which Forte has never seen the like. And we are infinitely proud to be building it.”
