An elegant culinary niche on the promenade at Tonfano, Alex has for seventeen years been the restaurant for aficionados of fine food in an equally privileged atmosphere: an early 20th-century palazzina framed by a spacious terrace and a luxuriant garden imbued with the scents and the idea of the nearby sea. “With my chef,” says host Simone Pancetti, “we have enriched our menu of Versilian specialties with new dishes and flavors.” For example? Fresh cappellacci pasta with a white fish filling, served with a crustacean-and-ginger consommé: a first course for sophisticated palates. Alex’s exclusive culinary proposals are generously backed up by the upwards of 350 labels available in the restaurant’s important cellar.
