the elegance of tradition

Tradition and modernity, elegance, and authentic ambience that comes from afar. The very name of Forte dei Marmi’s iconic La Barca tells a fascinating story that began when Captain Leo Tacchella’s ship ran aground here in 1906 and was transformed into a simple tavern. It was soon transformed again, into a true restaurant, as Forte was scaling the Olympus of tourism. Managed by the Petrucci family since 1969, La Barca still greets diners at its historic location on the seaside boulevard with beautifully-appointed dining rooms, an inviting 120-seat garden, and a menu revolving around high-quality raw materials. For dishes – like Penne Imperiali with shrimp, fish ravioli with truffles, seafood crudités, classic Fiorentina T-bone steak – spanning sea and land. With the added value of a wood-fired oven and a lavish listing of more than 500 wines. Another strength of this centrally-located spot is its secure parking facility.
