the creative flavors of Versilia
Ristorante Il Posto
For twenty-six years, this restaurant has proudly celebrated local culture—both on the plate and in every surrounding detail. The experience begins at the entrance, with handles by Girolamo Ciulla, and continues across the marble floor composed of stones from Upper Versilia: Bardiglio from La Cappella, Arabescato from Levigliani, Bianco Gioia from Cervaiole, and white striato marble from Ceragiola. Here, a classic salt-crusted fish with seasonal vegetables may be enjoyed while admiring works by Schifano or Mario Ceroli, seated beside a fireplace designed by Kan Yasuda. Owner Simone Andreano honors his roots through traditional recipes and carefully selected seasonal ingredients: fish baked “all’isolana” (with mixed vegetables) with Quercetano olive oil, spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino enriched with tuna or prawn tartare, and a reinterpretation of cacciucco fish stew once loved by Montale and Ungaretti. Every detail of this place reflects an authentic Versilia, where creativity continues to shape both cuisine and figurative art in equal measure.
